In 2018, Volkswagen is going to launch the new compact T-Cross crossover, claimed to be the most affordable yet SUV in the global VW lineup. After its concept premiere, dubbed the T-Cross Breeze, at the Geneva Motor Show two years ago, in 2016, this long-awaited SUV is expected to beat all the sales records in the compact crossover segment. The production-specs T-Cross is likely to make its official debut in the same place, early spring.
As previously reported, the T-Cross has in its heart the six-gen VW Polo basis, underpinning the smallest MQB platform. In terms of exterior, the T-Cross borrows some design features for the Golf-sized T-Roc concept and the latest Polo as well, in particular geometrical daytime running lights. The production version RWD T-Cross is expected to sit alongside a 1.5-litre turbo petrol and 1.6-litre diesel engine producing at least 90hp.
