The premiere of the new concept vehicle by Nissan made waves at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show. Dubbed the ‘XMotion’ (pronounced Cross-Motion), the conceptual SUV is actually a three-row six-seater looking extremely futuristic and aims at demonstrating current brand’s trends in the automotive Japanese industry. Are you brave enough to get behind the wheel of this Death Star? It is something to be in its design!
Yep, the concept SUV looks like it literally shoot out of George Lucas’ ‘Star Wars’ universe boasting a giant grille, a large flat hood, and a heavy overhang and rolling on mammoth 21-inch aluminum-allow wheels wrapped in all-terrain tires. Inside the vehicle, the XMotion is literally stuffed with sensitive screens, with the infotainment ‘floating commander ’system managed via gesture and eye movement control. There are seven screens including a giant screen running in the ceiling. The interior design masterfully played up ‘kigumi’, or wood art craft from Japan, with wooden curves and bamboo elements. A minimalistic interior with floating seats and plenty of connectivity, in particular, a virtual assistant system was designed to meet passengers’ needs. One thing is for absolute certain – blending a Japanese design with American utility, the XMotion truly depicts the hi-tech and design trends we’ve been seeing in the automotive industry in the future.
